The MWI solution enhances the Microsoft Exchange 2007 Unified Messaging (UM) platform by
providing additional methods to notify users of new UM messages in your mailbox.

Features:

Message Waiting Indicator (MWI)

·         Activate the MWI on PBX phone when new voicemails arrive.

·         Turn off the MWI when new voicemail messages are listened to.

Call Out Notification

·         Call Out Notification allows the user to set a phone number in the system that will be
called when new voicemails arrive in the inbox.

·         Requires IP to IP Gateway/PBX.

Text Messaging

·         Receive a Text message on you cell phone when new voicemails arrive.

·         Receive a Text message on your digital pager when new voicemails arrive.

 

Administrator control panel

Administration application allows the setting of all system and user settings.

o   Auto Discovery of all UM users

o   Start and Stop of system services and modules

o   Status and diagnostics interface

o   Tabbed Interface for ease of use

 

System Architecture:

The entire application has been developed using the latest tools from Microsoft. This provides
a very flexible and powerful environment for adding functionality as the need arises. It also
allows us to integrate very tightly with all the Microsoft office applications and provide a rich
user interface.

MWI Windows Service

The core product consists of a Windows service running on a Windows 2003 server. This service
consists of the following components:

·         Exchange 2007 Connector

o   The Exchange connector provides an interface to Exchange Web Services which is the
Microsoft preferred method of communicating with Exchange.

o   Exchange Web Services (EWS) provides a simple but powerful set of tools that allow the
application to receive notifications from Exchange about the users voice messages.

·         Active Directory Connector

o   The Active Directory connector provides an interface to acquire all the necessary
information about the Unified Messaging users.

·         SIP Call Control Connector

o   The application utilizes a complete SIP stack that allows for controlling the
MWI status and generating the callout feature.

o   Having a SIP stack will allow for additional call control features in future releases.   

·         IIS Web interface Connector

o   This provides the Web interface for users.

·         SMS Text Messaging Connector

o   Allows the application to send standardized text messages to any SMS capable device.
